The ArrowCat 30 is constructed using the highest quality resins and unidirectional fiberglass. All composite materials in the ArrowCat 30 all Lloyds and DNV certified.
The ArrowCat 30 is engineered to the highest standards by High Modulus New Zealand. The engineering specification is a working speed of 50 knots, 2.5 G force, 500 horsepower day-in day-out. This is far beyond the conditions the typical boater will ever experience and provides a huge safety margin for peak performance and safety in rough water. Although you may not need it, it is nice to know your boat is built to take more abuse than its passengers can tolerate.
The ArrowCat fiberglass laminates are hand-laid, using extensive unidirectional and bi-directional reinforcement fabrics. Fiberglass mat is used for cosmetic and bonding purposes, while the ArrowCat's world-class structure relies on the performance of continuous strand fiberglass mats (both uni-directional and bi-directional) for both strength and exact thickness (which equals optimum stiffness without extra weight) meaning we have a stronger (strength/weight ratio) and more resilient (lower resin ratio = less brittle) laminate product. Our hand layup method allows the reinforcement to be placed exactly where needed and for the panel thickness' to vary according to engineering specs. All joins (deck-to-hull, bulkheads to deck and hull, non-structural partitions) are hand fiberglassed to the hull and deck to make the ArrowCat 30 the most quiet, durable structure possible. The hull/deck join itself is first bonded using Plexus adhesive -- a super strong two-part methylmethacrylate adhesive. The hull-deck join is then completely fiberglassed from the inside to make a completely monolithic watertight structure that is not dependant on metal fasteners. Wood is not used for structure in the hull, deck, bulkheads, stringers or transom. The boat will not rot, nor can it absorb water.

In addition to using the finest building materials, we also use the finest components from world-recognized, OEM suppliers selected for their quality and industry leading warranty standards. For example,
Systems Access4 Large conduits are run along the tunnel's length for wire and plumbing services and ease of rigging. Access to tanks and systems is engineered for easy and simple maintenance. Because of the efficient use of space, every space in the boat is accessible for inspection and system maintenance. Safety has been designed into the entire boat. The ArrowCat 30 hull is designed to return to port on its own power, even in the unlikely event of two punctures below the waterline. There are 12 watertight compartments throughout the boat. Each hull has 3 watertight transverse bulkheads. Additionally, the sole of the cockpit and berths is watertight, forming a "double hull". Voids are foam filled for insulation and to avoid unwanted condensation. The ArrowCat 30 comes standard with independent and redundant systems for propulsion, fuel, electrical, and even steering (the boat can be steered with the engine throttles in the event hydraulic steering fails). Perhaps the most important safety feature is how the ArrowCat 30 performs at sea. Your first demo ride will demonstrate the ArrowCat 30 is an exceptionally dry, stable boat that keeps its bow up, tracks straight, and handles waves magnificently. |
